Intermittent LAN Connection Loss on Router While Wi-Fi Remains Functional
Hello,
I am experiencing intermittent connection issues with my router.
The main problem is that my PC, which is connected via LAN cable, randomly loses internet access. In most cases, the issue resolves itself after around 5–10 minutes, but sometimes a router restart is required.
During these outages, the Wi-Fi connection continues to work normally on other devices. In rare cases, the opposite happens and the Wi-Fi is affected instead, but this occurs much less frequently.
An important detail is that even when the internet connection stops working on the PC, I am still able to access the router interface via LAN without any issues. The router itself also does not show any internet connectivity problems or other errors during these incidents.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
- Replaced the LAN cable
- Performed a factory reset
- Updated the router firmware
Unfortunately, none of these steps solved the issue.
Additionally, when using a different 4G router with the same PC and cable setup, the problem does not occur.
Could someone please help me investigate this issue?
Best regards

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported phenomenon.
1. How often does the PC lose internet connection, such as how many times a day?
2. When the PC loses internet connection, do you have internet on another laptop if you connect it to the router via LAN cable?
3. When the PC loses internet connection, can it ping www.google.com or 8.8.8.8 successfully?

Hi,
Here are the instructions to use the Ping command on a PC: How to use the Ping command. Can I know why you can't use the ping command?
How often does the PC lose internet connection, such as how many times a day?
If you do not have a laptop, is there another device wired to the router? If so, when the PC has no internet, does that device work fine?
What's the model number and OS version of your PC?

When I tried to ping 8.8.8.8 or Google, I could not establish a connection.
I am using Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045.
My internet provider is O2 in Germany.
I lose the connection 2–3 times per day, usually within a short period of time.

Hi,
Can you connect another wired device to the Archer NX200 to test whether it works?
If you have another wired network adapter, you can install it on your Windows PC, connect the PC to the router via Ethernet cable, and check whether the connection is stable.

Hi,
Based on your tests, the Archer NX200 seems to work fine. You can try updating your PC's wired network adapter driver, or use a new wired network adapter to see if these tips help.

@Solla-topee
I have already replaced the cable several times, and these problems do not occur with another 4G router. I also do not think that my PC's software is responsible for the issue, since in some cases the Wi-Fi on my smartphone or TV has no internet access, while the LAN connection remains active, as described in the introduction.

Hi,
Just double-confirm: when the PC and laptop are both wired to the Archer NX200, does the laptop still work if the PC loses connection? If so, it means that when the router's LAN connection works, the PC may lose its connection, so I suggest updating the driver for the wired network adapter or using a new wired network adapter on the PC(not the Ethernet cable).
Please confirm the following information if the same phenomenon persists.
1. Please ensure your PC is wired to the router's LAN port rather than the WAN/LAN port.
2. When the PC does not have internet, please refer to this link to check the IP address on the PC, and check if it can ping the router's LAN IP successfully.
