Model: Tapo C260
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I'm looking into buying a couple of Tapo C260 for surveilance.

However one of the rooms are quite wide (10m) and I am wondering if it is possible to combine patrol mode with event tracking.
What I would like is the whole to to be scanned for events/motion (with patrol mode), follow any events until they disapear and finally return to patrol mode.

Is this possible with Tapo C260?

Hi,

Welcome to the TP-Link community.

Under normal usage, this scenario is generally achievable. You can set up Patrol Mode to let the camera scan across different viewpoints, and at the same time enable Motion Tracking. On the Auto Tracking page, you can choose to track all activities or only specific ones.

Best Regards,

Thank you! If I use AI detection instead of motion detection will the event tracking only apply to the selected events. Example: If a person enters the patrolled area I want the even to track the person. If a pet enters, the camera should continue patrollling. Is this also possible?

Hi,

Of course, on the Auto Tracking page, you will have the option to select to track all activities or only track specific activities.
