Mesh Ip address reservation limit
I have a domestic mesh system to enable both personal devices and house automation. To enable a stable system, I have chosen to give all resident devices a fixed / reserved IP address. This has worked so far for the devices with a fixed DCHP reserved address. I am getting a message "Up to 64 devices can be added" which I think means "you are at the limit of reserved IP address by using 64 off allocations.
My system has been upgraded from 6 off M5. I installed 6 off BE68 devices as their specification talked about having up to 200 available addresses, which I took as up to active devices 200. To complement the BE68 I am using two off M5s to cover low use dark spots.
I summaries the devices on the network as
1] Personal, include PCs, Laptops, NSA drives, TVs, DVD player and alongside of mobiles and tablets. DECO TOTALs 19 connected and 13 off-line as I write this story. These devices tend to random in use but high data rates when in uses.
2] Automation which is a basically enabling diverse lighting and low power devices. TOTAL 35 connected and 4 off-line at this moment. These devices are almost deterministic, i.e. persistent and timely. Their data rates is very low. I hope that I could add a few more!!
Questions
How could I gain reservations between 65 and 200?
I am guessing you might suggest prioritising the automation devices to have reservations.
Can the Deco mesh cope with more than 64 addresses / active devices. What does the 200 figure mean?
Would transferring automation devices to the IoT network help with the address count?
