Model: TL-WPA4220
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Hello!

I just acquired a single WPA4220 extender (powerline + wifi) to boost my network on a top floor of my house.

Currently I already use a set of four PA4010P (V4) powerline adapters to be able to connect a few devices (via ethernet cable) which have been working fine for months - and still do.

Problem is I cannot pair the new WPA4220 at all. I have tried pairing it with the PA4010P which is directly connected to the router as well as trying yo pair it just besides one of the other working PA4010P with no success.

No way I have been able to put the WPA4220 working in the existing powerline network.

Are there any known incompatibilities between the two models or any specific way to configure it properly giving the current set up I have?

Thanks a lot for your time and help.

Kind regards,

Nuno

@Solla-topee Hi!

Thanks a lot for your help.

Still not successful with the pairing buttons, unfortunately.

I bought the WPA4220 assuming they would be compatible as you say, but for some reason it is not working with the easy way for me.

Now, for the alternative method, with the tpPLC application in Windows that is a different story. I was able to add the WPA4220 device manually with its key to the existing powerline network.

So, problem solved!

Thanks again and have a nice day.

Nuno.

@NunoM  Hello,

AV600 powerline devices are compatible. Please add extra powerline unit into existing powerline network by pair button referring to the instruction:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1081/

Note:  press Pair button only for 1 sec, Power Leds should be flashing on both powerline units in pairing process. ( if the Power Led does not blink, press it for 1 sec again) When the Powerline Led or House Leds are on, the pairing process is done.

Or refer to this instruction to pair the powerline units/ add an extra powerline unit by Powerline Key:
https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1615/
