Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 Build 20210204 Rel. 50164

Have 2 X60 v2 placed appropriately in the house that are about 11 months old.

Until 6 weeks ago or so, there was no issue. They were rock solid every day.

Recently they've kept turning red - going offline, not once every now and then but constantly each day - sometimes half a dozen times.

There's no warning. We thought it might be a specific computer (we're mainly Mac), but even when everything else is disconnected it still drops.

Rebooted multiple rimes - no difference.
Reset them - no difference.

Changed out ethernet cables - no difference.

I'm sure there is some internal setting that I should know about - but I'm not good on that side of it.

I need some helpful suggestions.

@Davidx60

Deco mesh going red could mean Deco Internet health check is failing. If both your X60s show red simultaneously, and recover on their own, I would recommend contacting ISP technical support to ask them check quality of your Internet connection.

My story. I have Cable Internet with ISP router. My Deco mesh was going red and losing Internet multiple times per 24 hours, all units together, at random times day and night, and for a brief period. Every time about same short duration. Each time Deco mesh recovered on its own.

I contacted ISP tech support and initially they were dismissive. They told me everything seem to be fine with my ISP Cable Router, no other subscribers from my area complained, and they do not have outages in my area.

I insisted and they sent technician to my house. Technician have found the problem with cable coming to my house: it was bent during original installation, left that way and after few years its insulation cracked. Technician replaced it and problem disappeared.

@Alexandre.

Thanks for the response.

I'm in Sydney, Australia.

We have Telstra (Bigpond) internet via our NBN.

It's been checked multiple times.

@Davidx60

I am in Canada.

There is no configuration setting in Deco that will force X60s lose connection and drop Internet, such as regular scheduled Deco units reboot. There is also no configuration setting to debug Internet connectivity issues or Deco issues.

Each Deco unit has internal logs that are accessible through the browser, in Web interface. When Main Deco believes it lost Internet connection, because health check failed, it'll log that.

That log line gives very little information, just that Main Deco believes it can't connect to the Internet, not why. Yet, if you see it in Main Deco logs after every outage, that means the problem is between Main Deco and Internet, not inside Deco mesh.

These logs are not kept for long and are overwritten in a matter of hours. They must be checked right after the outage. They can be saved on local disk.

You didn't tell if your Deco mesh recovers on its own or you have to reboot X60s. Rebooting will delete logs.

If you want to check Main Deco logs, tell me and I'll give you info how to do that, and what log line in them to look for.

@Davidx60

Hi, thank you for the feedback.

It is suggested to test the following beta firmware which is intended for the unstable issues of Spectrum and also suitable for other ISPs as well.

Deco X60 V2 1.5.1 build 20210701

How to update the firmware:

How to Update the Firmware of Deco

If it is not working,  just like Alex said, please save the system log on the web UI before you reboot the Deco.
