Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.1

Hi all,

Very weird issue with my PC's Intel Wireless-AC 9260 WiFi and my Deco M5 network in Acess Point mode  - I can connect to the M5 but it fails to obtain a DHCP address.

If I disconnect from my Deco and use my Archer C9 which is in AP mode and hardwired into pfSense, it obtains an IP address correctly. My AC 9260 also connects correctly to my MiFi device and other standalone access points.

This one particular AC 9260 client cannot obtain an IP address from the Deco - all other laptops, computers, ipads, iphones, etc. all work fine with the Deco.

It seems something with the recent versions of firmware causes my 9260 to die during DHCP.

Very odd.

I searched the Intel forums, it seems there maybe an incompatiblity with the 9260 and some WiFi chipsets?

Update: Enabling Smart DHCP seems to mitigate the issue, it looks like Smart DHCP causes problem with the 9620?

@coolspot18 Thank you very much for the update.

The smart DHCP should be enabled by default under Access Point. Did you turn it off before?

And Intel 9260 should get the IP address directly from the main router/pfSense when M5 is on access point mode.

By the way, have you checked online whether there is a new driver for Intel 9260?

Best regards.
