Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.7 Build 20230620 Rel. 31797

Hi All

    Trying to get rid of the appalling sky router and connect the X55 direct to the Ethernet port on the Sky/Openreach ONT.

It tried some of the tricks like MAC clone, turn on IPV6 turn ONT off for 10 min etc....

But just cant get this to work :(

Any suggestions? im getting fed up of having to reboot the Sky router every few weeks as it crashes for no real reason

  @AlanUKWatson

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

May I know the current internet connection type on the Deco APP>More>Internet Connection, Dynamic IP, or PPPOE?

Have you ever checked with SKY what should be the correct internet connection type?

It is also suggested to connect an Ethernet laptop to the ONT box directly to see whether there is any internet service on the laptop.

I have seen some users mention SKY Fibre service might use SKY_MER/DHCP Option 61. If you also need the same service, Deco currently does not support this kind of internet connection type.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

Laptop works and others seem to have got the X55 working so not sure why it doesn't 😞

If its DHCP option 61 when will this be supported ? assume via a firmware update?

  @AlanUKWatson Don't want to interfere, but it may help you along..

I used to use a net duma router which to connect to sky required some specific instructions for option 61

using these

 Client Identifier ID.                        52616e646f6d7573657240736b7964736c7c70617373776f7264

 Vender Class ID                                         6.14.7aNUNIPCBAFAST2504NV1.0

Here is a screenshot of a post that explains it from their site below

Only just seen this reply.... So you are using a Netduma R2 passing ethernet to the Deco device ? Is that identifier specific to you? How did you get this?
