A few months ago,the latest addition to the Starlink family, known as the Starlink Standard (Gen 3) was released. Over the past few weeks, we've received some inquiries about using Deco with the new Starlink service. In this article, we'd like to share some useful configuration tips for connecting Deco with Starlink Gen 3.

How to connect Deco with Starlink Gen 3?
1. Connect the main Deco to one of the Ethernet ports of the Gen 3 router.
2. Follow this guide to set up Deco.
Since the default operation mode on Deco is also a wireless router, to avoid of double NAT issue, there are two recommended setups:
- Enable "Bypass Mode" on the Gen 3 router and leave Deco as the only Wi-Fi router
- Please open Starlink APP>Settings>Advanced to enable Bypass mode
(Bypass mode will disable the built-in Starlink WiFi router functionality. A factory reset is required if you want to switch back to router mode. )
- Keep the default settings on the Gen 3 router, then set Deco into Access Point mode.

Q: Do I need to delete the current Deco Mesh system and set it up again after switching Starlink Gen 3 from the previous modem?
A: Usually, We don't need to delete the previous Mesh configuration. Please confirm the connection type has been set to Dynamic IP and Deco should be plug-and-plug once Starlink Gen 3 is online.
Q: Can I connect both Decos directly to the Starlink Gen 3 router? Will I have Ethernet Backahul on the Deco?
A: It should work but Deco needs to be set into Access Point mode first.
