Firmware Version:

TP-link Router Model HC220-G5 AC1200

Due to slow speeds wanting to check what channel my Mac Air is on, logged in to the MTH Networks (OFNL) http://tplinkwifi.net/ Router page as Admin, but not very clear, until I stumled over the Advanced Wireless Settings (hidden away)

How do I switch between the 2.4gh and 5gz ranges easily?

Unfortunately all I can tell is I am currently on the 5GZ range on Channel 40, but unable to see what channels my neighborus are on.

Also if anyone knows of a good free wifi scanner for Mac, please shout up.

Cheers

  @Ronof9

Hi, Most of Mesh routers support band steering so mobile devices would automatically move from 2.4GHz to 5GHz(or vice versa) according to the current network occupation of the wireless bands. As for the WiFi scanner for Mac, I would recommend for NetSpot.

Thank you very much and best regards.
