This Article Applied to:
Archer BE550 V1 1.1.1 Build 20241230
Phenomenon Description:
We've received feedback from users that after updating the Archer BE550 V1 firmware to the official 1.1.1 Build 20241230 version, certain devices with 10Mbps or 100Mbps connections are unable to access the internet when connected via cable.
Commonly affected devices include:
- Tado Internet Bridge: IB-01 (10Mbps half-duplex)
- Liftmaster 828LM (10Mbps half-duplex)
- LINKSYS PAP2T VoIP Phone Adapter (10/100Mbps half-duplex)
- Salus iT500 thermostat gateway (10/100Mbps half-duplex)
The Ethernet connection status on the BE550's web UI may appear invalid as shown below (the device is connected to the LAN1 2.5G bps port on the BE550):
These devices worked fine with the BE550 on 1.0.x firmware but have stopped functioning with the new 1.1.1 version. This issue may lead to customers' smart devices going offline, impacting their daily lives.
Workaround:
We understand this can be frustrating. Our development team has provided beta software to address this issue. If you're experiencing similar issues, please upgrade and install the beta software on your Archer BE550 V1, then check if those devices connect to the internet properly.

Additional Information
If the above beta firmware doesn't resolve the issue, please provide the following details:
• Details of the affected devices: Specify the model, hardware version, and firmware version of the devices that cannot connect to the internet via Ethernet cable with the BE550. Also, please verify the Ethernet port specifications (10Mbps or 100Mbps).
• Did these devices work properly before upgrading the Archer BE550 firmware?
Thank you for your attention!

Thanks. I guess for the EU versions I will have to use any of these: https://www.tp-link.com/de/support/download/archer-be550/v1/#Firmware
Yes, Baxajaun is right. You can download the latest official 1.1.1 version of firmware from the local website, then upload it manually to the router via local upgrade.

You can add to the list with this problem the Salus IT-500 thermostat gateway which 10/100 LAN cable connected ... pretty much similar issues as the Tado.
The only time was working was with original very first firmware of BE550 and BE800.
Interesting fact if i plug it to the 10gbps Sodola switch i use for getting more rj45 ports it is visible ... directly to routers not working.
salus it-500 pretty old thermostat ... probably ill change it ... waiting for a Tapo similar implementation.

@Ovidiuss Thank you very much for the info.
While searching online, I found that the Salus iT-500 thermostat gateway appears to be a Wi-Fi device, and I couldn't find any specs related to an Ethernet connection or port. Could you please confirm?

@Ovidiuss I also have the Salus IT-500 thermostate in my house (identical to the manual pictures on here) but have no problems with it on this Firmware 1.1.1. I always have it connected to a tp-Link ethernet hub but I tried connecting it directly to the BE550 ethernet port to see if the connection would be lost like yours but it gets picked up fine.
Green light on the Salus Wi-Fi box and my tether app shows its connected with heating working from the touchscreen black box on wall while directly connected to BE550.

Mine at latest firmware also and connected directly to router red led blinking on gateway no visibility in theter app no visibility nor on BE550 nor BE800.
Plugged the gateway into side Sodola 10Gbps managed switch then from switch into the router and green led blinks.
As i said the only single time worked directly connected with routers was with the very first 2023 factory firmware.
P.S
just re-tested again and same symptoms with be800+be550 (performed some tests with very old other brand wifi5 router and works )
Maybe because my setup is different... BE800 is main router and BE550 wired backhaul easy meshed

If that is the case, the issue may be caused by the network topo. Could you please provide a detailed network layout of how you want to connect the BE800, BE550, and the Salus IT-500 thermostat?
Please try to remove the EasyMesh satellite device from the network, and connect the Salus IT-500 thermostat to the main router's LAN port directly, will it work?

1) BE800 (1.2.1 Build 20250108 rel.48985(4555) is main router connected directly to ISP xgpon media converter via pppoe
2) then on the 2,5Gbps router ports are 1x BE550 (1.1.1 Build 20241230 rel.20267) 1x BE900 (V2_1.1.5 Build 20250116) wired backhaul satellites with easy mesh setup.
3) in the 10Gbps LAN rj45 of the BE800 is an chinese Sodola 10Gbps switch with 8x 10Gbps ports that have auto sensing capabilities 10/100/1000/2500/5000/10000 Mbps .
The salus IT500 gateway
- if connected directly to BE800 not working not detected not seen
- if connected to easy meshed BE500 not working not detected not seen
- if connected to easy meshed BE900 not working not detected not seen
- if connected to Sodola 10Gbps switch works
- full removed all satellites from BE800 and direct plugged the gateway to 2.5G ports no connectivity ... 10Gbps port no connectivity
- i did not test with BE550 or BE900 as main routers and direct connect to these as main routers because i use them as easy mesh wired satellites.
All cables in my home are Ugreen CAT8 on different sizes (longest 50m shortest 45cm)

Have you tested the beta firmware I provided in this thread for the BE550v1? Please give it a go and check whether the Salus IT-500 thermostat gateway will work properly.
Regarding the BE800v1, I also published a beta firmware here in the following thread, you can update it also on your BE800:
