HS110 Energy Monitoring
HS110 Energy Monitoring
Hello
I am considering purchasing one of these to Monitor Energy that I use for work related devices.
I am strugging to find much information on the Energy Monitoring portion and even YouTube videos have not shown much information.
What I want to know is does this device give you a breakdown of usage by day? and how long does it keep the logs for?
Can the energy usage be exported?
Thanks

Hello, you can read the article below to get more details about the energy monitoring.
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2410/
And the energy usage cannot be exported. It can be viewed on the Kasa app.
May it help.

Hello, we feedback to our product department already, they will evaluate the feasibility.
Please keep your eyes on our app and the official website for the update.

This one is a nice and easy tool: https://github.com/jamesbarnett91/tplink-energy-monitor/releases
Your HS110 has to be in the same network as your PC
- start the executeable
- open your browser
- open localhost:3000
There is no option for export but the data is shown on a smaller scale than in Kasa - everydays consumption within the last month (not the mean of the last 7 or 30 days) and the same on a monthly base.

What I do is poll the HS110 every few seconds and record the current values to a record (line) in a google sheet.
Google let's you store data in google sheets for free, so I can archive the sheet and keep the data forever.
It's pretty easy to create filters and graphs to show the data in any format needed and they're available to view from a web browser.
I've added these features to AutomationManager, in addition to the google logging it will auto-archive, and you can trigger actions locally (emails, etc) when alert conditions are met.
I'm sure running on a PC will work well, but I do question the value of running a PC 24/7 if the idea is to measure and save energy :). AutomationManager runs on a low end android device using very little power.
