If you met Cloud Error when enable “ remote control” most of time Modem/ router has a firewall which affect the cloud service, you could try below to troubleshoot:

1. Turn off the firewall on the modem and router and then reboot it.
2. Change the DNS server of the modem/router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
3. factory reset smart plug by pressing the “ gear/ settings” button for 10 secs and set up on Kasa app again
If still not resolved, may I know the MAC address of your smart plug?
