TAPO C200 connection to WiFi without password works?

Hi. Does this camera accepts connection to free / no password WiFi networks?

A secured Wi-Fi is required to set up tapo camera. Tapo devices including tapo camera only support an encrypted Wi-Fi network (WPA/WPA2-PSK), not an open Wi-Fi /portal Wi-Fi .

@Solla-topee Thank you a lot for feedback. But if we will encounter a free WiFi, would it work to connect TAPO to a HOTSPOT from mobile (with password) ? (that would be connected to the free WiFi)

@Criola Hello,
Most of the time tapo camera should be able to connect to the Hotspot Wi-Fi as long as it's a 2.4Ghz Hotspot Wi-Fi .
Kindly note that sometimes hotspot Wi-Fi from mobile phone is not that stable, and this may affect the performance of camera.
We still recommend to use the camera with a router's Wi-Fi if possible.
