Notification for Off-Line is a must - first thing a burglar does is cut the power.

i just changed over from D-Link to tapo because the unable to record (forcing me to get subscription) Everything seems ok, but no notification when camera offline. Check on the web and found this forum. and dated 2022 and yet no improvement done after 3 years of suggestion.

You all know why Nokia close down? because they think they are good and no need listen to customer advise.

adding this offline notification is critical for alot of people. Well, lucky i bought the forty bucks camera (for testing and trial) and not the expensive.

Will go look for better 1 in the mean time.

This dropkick snuck around behind a camera and turned it off. It seems ridiculous that this can happen, and I don't get an alert. Fortunately I had another camera, that he didn't see, that caught him, and his friend. @YRK

It's not just cameras, it's all tapo devices that use wi-fi connectivity to work. The device should keep retrying periodically to reconnect rather that just giving up and going offline. I've followed all the suggestions in the troubleshooting guides including setting up DHCP reservations for all Tapo devices so they always have the same IP address and making sure that they connect via the nearest satellite in my mesh system so they have the strongest signal and that they are on a 2.4GHz only wi-fi connection but still some go offline. Fine if I'm at home but what if I'm away on holiday when they go offline? With the plugs, when I reconnect them after they go offline, they don't rember their previous settings so they have to be setup from scratch. Okay, they're the cheap option but for mission critical stuff I'm moving away from Tapo to "grown-up" Z-Wave devices. I've had Z-wave devices from 5 or more years ago that have worked faultlessly during that time and never gone offline.
