Why there is no offline notification for tapo cameras?
Hi,
Users of Tapo cameras must get the notification on the mobile phone, when cameras switch to offline, because, for example- a burglar can cut the electricity.
Such notifications are norm in security systems. I can't understand why so important an basic function is not available in tapo application? Appplication "knows" when the camera switches to offline, so why doesn't it send a notification in such case? Tp Link should update the application adding this function.

i just changed over from D-Link to tapo because the unable to record (forcing me to get subscription) Everything seems ok, but no notification when camera offline. Check on the web and found this forum. and dated 2022 and yet no improvement done after 3 years of suggestion.
You all know why Nokia close down? because they think they are good and no need listen to customer advise.
adding this offline notification is critical for alot of people. Well, lucky i bought the forty bucks camera (for testing and trial) and not the expensive.
Will go look for better 1 in the mean time.

This dropkick snuck around behind a camera and turned it off. It seems ridiculous that this can happen, and I don't get an alert. Fortunately I had another camera, that he didn't see, that caught him, and his friend. @YRK

Knowing whether the monitoring system is doing its job should be a basic feature (device connection issues, internet problems, router failures, power outages, device malfunctions, etc.). If I had known this before, I would have chosen another brand. When the time comes to renew my cameras, I will make sure this feature is available before buying. A good lesson learned.
