Model: Tapo L530E
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi I just purchased four L530E to replace my existing LB110 and LB100.

I bought them for an upgrade but it did not.

My Kasa app works flawless to my exsiting LB110 and LB100 bulbs, when you switch off the bulb through the wall controller, it will grey out the app bulb on/off button in 3 seconds which indicating wifi connection loss/offline.

But these L530E, after 5 mins of switching off on the wall controller, it will still NOT show 'offline' and even allow you to go into the bulb menu to change the settings (even the on/off button on the app is working).

Can this be fixed asap or can I return to you for refund? as the new bulbs experience are worser than your products i bought 2 years ago.

the bulbs are on the latest firmware.

  @JJJ123

Thank you for your feedback.

We tested one Tapo L530E in the lab, when cut off the power off to the bulb , the bulb will become Offline in the tapo app within 1 minute.

I suspect the wall controller or switch does not completely cut off the power, you may test the smart bulb in another different light fixture like a lamp and see if this the same.

You may pull down the main page of Tapo APP to refresh device status in the Tapo APP at that time.

  @Solla-topee

Thanks so much for testing it.

I did another test with 2 different L530E and two different LB100/110 series at same location same fitting in the same network.

LB100/110 will be shown offline with 30 secs, Kasa app has no pull down refresh option.

where LB530E still take around 3-7 mins to be offline after I updated my tapo app to your June andriod version, and I pull down to refresh 5 times per min.

Location, is Australia, L530E hardware Version 2.0, Firmware Version 1.0.9 Build 220526 Rel. 203202.

Is it could be location issue? But Kasa LB100/110 bulbs are perfect.

I bought four of L530E and put in different locations, all have the same issue.

  Hello @JJJ123

Thank you for sharing further test result, after cutting the power for the Tapo bulb, APP seems to have some caches for the bulb and bulb appears 'online' but it is already offline.

 At that time try to pull down the menu/APP Devices page to refresh,  you will find the device has already become Offline.

Without power, the bulb can not receive command through the cloud or Wi-Fi, nor  it can be controlled by the APP so you do not need to worry about the safety.
