This functionality works fine on all my newer HS200 switches.

Sorry for the late reply. May I know how many HS200 V1 do you have and do they behave the same？
This could be due to that V1 does not own this Led control feature in the firmware, as far as I know the V1 firmware is not as new as other hardware version and may not receive an update unless major bugs to fix, you may consider upgrading the old to the latest V5.
