Hi,

 

Is there any way of adding the P100 (UK version) to Homekit using matter? I am currently using Homebridge to get the functionality and was wondering if there is another way.

The product requires hardware support to enable HomeKit or Matter compatibility. Existing Tapo products can NOT be upgraded through firmware updates to support HomeKit or Matter.

 

As per GitHub, Homebridge is a lightweight NodeJS server you can run on your home network that emulates the iOS HomeKit API. It's an applicable method if you want to use a non-HomeKit Tapo product with Apple Home. 

 

However, please note that in order to ensure the security of your account and product, TP-Link does NOT recommend sharing TP-Link account or device information with any unauthorized third-party services.

 

To increase account security, please update your TP-Link account password regularly and enable Tapo 2FA (Two-Step Verification).

  @Wayne-TP Why would a hardware upgrade be required for devices that are already WIFI capable? Leviton and other manufacturers have pushed firmware that has enabled Matter support
