We have purchased a bundle deal on Amazon for TP70 plus Echo 8.  We are using this to monitor my dad who needs 24 hour care but wants his own space inbetween times when he needs physical assistance.  Given the Echo 8 was sold with the Tapo70 camera assumed this would work well... however we find that the camera feed switches off automatically.  Is there any way to avoid the device going to sleep?  It defeats the purpose if we don't have visibility of the camera feed ongoing.  Advice welcomed or will need to send the Echo 8 and potentially camera back to Amazon.

Hi,
Generally, when you use the Tapo app to stream the Tapo camera locally, you can watch the camera continuously on the Tapo app. When you watch the camera remotely with the Tapo app, the camera's live stream needs to be uploaded to the TP-Link Cloud server first and your phone then downloads and plays it. Upon this point, continuous live streaming strains your network bandwidth, and it might cause data allowance overages, which is also inconsistent with the advocacy of energy conservation, so there will be a time limitation for the live streaming and you will be prompted to continue the viewing.
If you are using a third-party device such as Echo 8 to watch the live stream of the Tapo camera, it will be disconnected automatically when it arrives at a certain minute as it’s a Cloud-to-Cloud service which will strain your network bandwidth more and cause more data allowance overages.

With the Tapo cam, if you want to watch it continuously and remotely, you can view the camera on a PC via RTSP/ONVIF stream. Below are the instructions to watch the camera on a PC via RTSP/ONVIF stream locally, to stream the camera remotely, it's required to open port 554/2020 on your router for the camera.
How to view Tapo camera on PC through RTSP stream?

Best Regards
