I've recently installed a pair of these cameras with the included tapo hub and every so often when I try access the live view, it doesn't work and instead forces my router to restart.  It only seems to happen when both cameras are installed, if one of them does not have the battery in it then this issue doesn't happeen.

Is there any known solution to this that i'm not finding on the forums?  If you can't access the live view on the camera without crashing the entire network then they aren't really fit for purpose.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Usually, there is no problem watching two cameras on the same Tapo app. Please help confirm the following information about the reported issue for further analysis.
1. Does the Tapo app prompt a notice that you need to reboot your router to make the camera work? If so, would you please send me a picture of this prompt?

2. On the camera's Device Settings>Device Info page, please tap the Wi-Fi icon and send me the signal strength value.

3. How far between the hub and the router? Are they connected via Wi-Fi or an ethernet cable?

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

1) No prompts

2) Full Signal on both

3) 5 metres and 9 metres.  Cameras connected via wireless to the Tapo Hub, the hub connected via an Ethernet Cable

It happens intermittently and have now confimed that it is triggered by tapping on a motion notification to open the camera view.  Instead of opening the camera shows a refresh symbol for a few seconds and goes black.  Then the router reboots the wireless connection and goes down whilst rebooting.

Only happens when a second Camera is connected and every single time it happens is immediately when a notification alert is opened from the app.  It doesn't happen everytime but when it does happen, it's always when a notification is pressed.

Hi,
Please reboot the hub, update the Tapo app if it is not the latest one, and then check if the problem disappears.

If not, please help confirm the following information for further analysis.
1. The model number of your wireless router.
2. On the Tapo app>hub's Device Settings>Diagnostics page, please turn on this option.
After the problem happens, please go to the Tapo app>Me> Help & Feedback>Hubs>Feedback>select your hub, go Next>type Forum ID 655356+SlyPan, check Add System Logs>tap SEND FEEDBACK to send us the log files. Then let me know after you send us the logs.

Best Regards
