In general you should use extender as last resort. If possible add second Wi-Fi Router/AP device closer to the camera via cable connection. This could possibly create mesh with some of the devices on the market. There are also some Wireless mesh devices which could be used for better coverage and speed. And as last step you should use extender.
So far I did not see any Wi-Fi camera which supports Wi-Fi 6, which is kind of shame.

Camera should work with any router and any extender though. As cameras are more like Wi-Fi 3-4, and newer Wi-Fi modes are backward compatible.
Of course there are always possibility for incompatibilities so to be 100% sure you need to test it.
