Model: Archer T3U
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1030.29.618.2019

Hello, I've bought a Archer T3U Plus a while ago. I had to change my router and I've upgraded my Wi-Fi security to WPA3. However, Archer T3U plus still has drivers from late 2019, which doesn't support WPA3 yet. Even T2U Plus has WPA3 support right now. Are there any beta drivers that enables WPA3 support for T3U Plus?

Hi,

You can either try a driver from 2021 linked in this thread https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/509006
or download the latest available driver from 2023 via this third-party website https://station-drivers.com/index.php/en-us/component/remository/Drivers/Realtek/Wireless-(Wifi)/RTL8192RU-8188CU-8188CUS-8192CU..../Realtek-RTL8812AU-8192RU-...-Version-1030.44.0822.2023-WHQL/ .

I am not entirely certain whether the driver from 2021 already supports WPA3 (you may test this on your own), but I can confirm the one from 2023 definitely does.

Note that both drivers will likely not install automatically, because they don't seem to contain the hardware ID 2357:0138 of the Archer T3U Plus, so you may need to install them via the "Have disk" method in Windows and select "TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter" manually.

Furthermore, if you only update the driver (without completely removing the previous one), then you should have Windows "Forget" the existing wireless network(s) via the "Manage known networks" menu, as otherwise Windows might continue to connect using WPA2.
