Hi,
You may try to factory reset the camera and configure it to connect to the router's Wi-Fi. Once the camera is configured successfully and can be controlled via the Tapo app, you can connect the camera to the router by an ethernet cable, turn off the 2.4G Wi-Fi on your router temporarily, and then check if you can control the camera with the Tapo app.

Hi,
If you have a problem finding the camera when it connects to the router by an ethernet cable during the configuration process, in the step to looking for the camera on the Tapo app, please ensure your phone connects to the same router's main Wi-Fi network rather than guest network, other Wi-Fi networks, or mobile data.
If the problem remains, please check:
1) The LED status on the camera when configuring it.
2) Can your phone ping the camera's IP address successfully?

Thank you so much !I set up the camera with wifi, then connected the ethernet cable and finally i changed the wifi password so the camera cant connect with wifi. When i go to the camera settings its shows thats it is connected with ethernet. You don't even need to turn off wifi, when you plug the ethernet cable automatically bypass the wifi connection.
