Some news,
on December 27, both my cameras received firmware update 1.2.23
The next step will be to unbox a third camera to see if the update is instantaneous.
I can finally use the cameras that I bought after more than a month of waiting while the tp-link website clearly specified compatibility of the C225 C425 camera with the H200 hub (my goal was clearly to use them without cloud subscription and with backup outside the camera)
It would be appropriate to inform the customer a little better before their purchase; Indeed, I received my cameras on November 25 and what a disappointment to see this incompatibility. I spent too much time with after-sales service who didn't seem to be aware of it and I had to search the internet myself to find this post and understand the problem.
That said and now that it works; Happy New Year to everyone.

Are you saying Tapo C225? I don't see any relevant content mentioning Tapo hub on its product page?

I have C425 V1.2 cameras Firmware 1.2.24 Build 250103 Rel 70731n
H200 hub Firmware 1.5.0 Build 20250221 Rel 59821 (doorbell camera works ok with this hub, as do sensors)
Equipment purchased in Australia
I have read all the guides in this forum & cannot get the C425 cameras to connect to the hub or to record to the hub.
Has the ability to record to the hub been removed with the latest firmware updates?

@STAPLE
Hello
I have C425 camera v1.20 firmware 1.2.24 Rel 70731n and H200 hub Firmware 1.5.0 Build 20250221 Rel 59821 (both same as you).
Cameras can record to the hub.
Do you use the wifi network from the hub? Are the cameras connected on the same local network? is the connection correct ? I guess your issue come from a bad connection between hub and camera.
My cameras are connected to my wifi (not to the wifi from the hub), i have a mesh wifi to be sure that the connection is really good.
BUT i'm not sure that i recommend to use only the hub to record videos.
The cameras disconnect from the Wi-Fi too often, meaning you don't record anything because the connection is simply lost. I recommend using SD cards in the camera to fix that.
I originally wanted to use the hub to decentralize backups throughout the house in case the camera is stolen or broken (they're security cameras, so it's the least it can do!). The problem is that the cameras disconnect too often, and it's not possible to record on the hub and locally on the SD card at the same time.
The connection is better with the firmware 1.2.24 but not perfect (my mesh wifi is good and driven by tp-link devices (xe75), the compatibility can't be better)
The best feature will be to record on both device and/or ask cameras to backup the local videos to the hub each hour, or after each record; for exemple.
Official answer from tp-link.. use the cloud backup... pay pay pay. It's a shame because if they can record on a SD card and upload on the cloud; they could can record on a SD card and upload on the hub.

@STAPLE I am using the same firmware versions and they are working fine. FYI, you can't add the C425 from the hub interface. you need to set the camera to store locally without inserting a sdcard and continue from there. good luck with tapo software!

Thanks for the heads up regarding your experiences. I will try out both options & see if I have a similar outcome to you.
I had done everything correctly, BUT I left the memory card in the camera whilst trying to connect to the hub (see post below-I got it working with the hub in a few seconds after removal of the memory card!)
