Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7

Hello,

I´m facing a issue that running 1.1.5 or 1.1.7 firmware, i´m losing ability to to use N78 or N28 5G and deco seems to be stuck to using 4G LTE (B20).

Even if you try to run Band settings or use cell lock it won´t have any effect to connection. Settings on the connection are not making any change.

With firmware 1.1.3 i can use n78 and n28 bands normally selecting them from band menu. B20 is the strongest at area -80dBm but it´s not the fastest.

Before factory reset, is there anything i could try ?

Hi, thank you for the feedback.

May I know who your SIM carrier is?

Can you share some screenshots of the current internet settings on the Deco X50-5G, such as:

And you don't need to factory reset Deco X50-5G, 1.1.7 could revert to 1.1.5 directly via the web interface.

How to Update the Firmware of Deco

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Hi!

Here is the setup:

I also have tried to use cell lock with carrier auto and elisa ->  won´t change band.

seems it "stuck" to B20 which seems to be most powerfull signal here.

  @Will_K

Hi, Thanks for the update.

Deco X50-5G supports Carrier Aggregation to merge more than one band to improve the bandwidth.

It seems like your Deco X50-5G is working on 5G Carrier Aggregation now.

What is your current speed difference between 5G Carrier Aggregation(Band 20+1+3) vs 5G N28/N78?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi, N78 & N28 i can get around 500-700 Mbps before and now with B20 200-300Mbps.

I can only replicate this problem with firmwares 1.1.5 & 1.1.7

1.1.3 works with N78 and N28

  @madvinegar

We are still looking the case with engineer.

I looked your link and it seems you are having a samekind of thing. Is B20 very strong in your area ? i´m having -80dB when using it.

  @Will_K

My best speeds are with N78 but the signal is stronger for N28 or N1.

I had a zte MC801A 5G router. I could choose N78 and it stayed connected to N78 all the time without changing to N1 or N28 so I had the best speed all day.

Now with Deco X50-5G I select N78 and after a while it changes to N1 or N28... What is the point to have the band selection option if the router does not keep it and connects to whatever band it prefers...?

I am very frustrated. I thought changing from the Zte to TpLink was the better option, but maybe I am mistaken.

Re:Deco X50-5G loses 5g after 1.1.5 firmware update
Yesterday

  @Will_K I am facing the same issue. I recent bought a Deco TP-Link X3000-5G (and same firmware released to this version at the date of the post above), and once I updated to it, I stopped having N78 band and 5G just connecting to B20 (4G).

Before was amazing and I noticed that this upgrade caused the problem.

Please, follow up as I am considering returning the router as the previous one I tested was really great (ZTE but without external antena support, which I don't need if I connect to N78 band).
