Model: Tapo C720
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.3

I have never use the Away Mode, but I pressed it accidentally.  In fine print underneath: Tap to activate which will overwrite detection setting of all cameras.

All my 5 camera detection settings / presets have been deleted.

I never used the Home Mode and setup all my cameras with the Manage button / Device Setting / Detection et cetera.

Is there anyway I can restore those settings / presets please?  Are they saved to a configuration file withing the Android Tapo app file system?  I did a backup some time ago, so I could get to it from there, but I don't know what file to look for.

Hi,
The Away mode and Home mode are two different presets of Detection, Alarm, and Notification settings for cameras. The Away mode and Home mode settings will overwrite the current settings of the camera, and if you want to go back to the original settings after pressing the Away mode, it's suggested to go to each camera's Device Settings page to change the settings again. You can also refer to the instructions below to change all your cameras' settings via the Home mode.
How to edit Home and Away Mode for Tapo&Kasa Cameras on the Tapo app

Note: by pressing the three-dots icon on the Home/Away mode card, you can view/edit the existing Home/Away mode settings.

Best Regards

I have never setup Home Or Away mode.  I do not need them.  Somehow, inadvertently, the Away mode had some settings.  I don't know how they got there.  Anyway, I have removed them.

"The Away mode and Home mode settings will overwrite the current settings of the camera".  There should be a warning message like this:.

"To go back to the original settings after pressing the Away mode, it's suggested to go to each camera's Device Settings page to change the settings again."

That is what I had to do, and it was a real pain.  I hope this horrible situation never happens again.

Hi,
1. Typically, the Home/Away mode settings appear only after you add them manually. The camera settings won't be there automatically.

2. Thank you very much for your feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience caused. I'll log the feature request and forward it to the relevant team for evaluation.

Best Regards

I have edited the subject heading to read:

Pressing Away Mode deleted Detection Zones settings off 5 cameras - NO WARNING

I wrote Home Mode in there and that was wrong / misleading.  I never setup Home or Away modes.

I am using a late model Samsung mobile phone.  They have the Smart Switch App that you install on Windows 10.  You can then make a backup of your mobile phone or an individual backup of any files, folders or app in the phone.  You can then restore any app back to how it was. I have just backed up Tapo, and I'll keep my fingers crossed if at all I have to restore.

Hi,
If you worry that the Home/Away mode settings will apply to your camera accidentally, please go to the Tapo app > Cameras tab > Tap the three dots icon on the Home/Away mode card, and then ensure your camera is not listed on the page.
Best Regards
