Tampering Detection not working on Tapo C125
Camera tampering detection is not working on the latest firmware v1.2.3. Already enabled tampering detection with highest sensitivity and notifications on. Tried blocking camera partially and even fully but no detection triggered. Anyone having the same issue?

You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if the detection feature on the camera is not working.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
If the problem remains, please check:
1. Send me the pictures of the camera's Device Settings > Detection page, and Notification page.
2. Enable the Alarm feature on the camera and check if the camera will alarm when blocking it partially or fully.
3. Have you subscribed to the Tapo Care service for the camera? Or do you insert an SD card into the camera to store video recordings?
4. Can you send us a video showing the reported issue?

3. Not using Tapo Care nor SD card. I hook it up to my VIGI NVR (but shouldn't affect detection I suppose?)

Hi,
We did a test with a Tapo C125 and the camera tampering detection feature is no problem.
You can try to factory reset the camera, reconfigure it, and then check if the Tampering Detection feature will work. You can tamper the camera's live view page with your hand for a test.

1. Which f/w version did you test on? 1.2.3?
2. I tried factory reset by holding the reset button for >5 secs until blinking red light. Reconfigured the cam but tampering detection still doesn't work. Did I factory reset correctly?

1. Yes, we did a test with a Tapo C125 V1, v1.2.3.
2. It's suggested to press the reset button for 10 seconds on the camera to factory reset it.
3. If the problem remains, would you please place the camera in a location that won't record the private images, try to tamper the camera's live view page with your hand, and then record the video and send it to us?

1. I am now able to receive the tampering notification when I obstruct the camera fully. However, it still doesn't work for partial obstruction. Have sent you a dm regarding the video screenshot!
2. One more problem I noticed - my VIGI NVR doesn't seem to trigger the tampering notification. In other words, I only receive the notification in my Tapo app but not VIGI app. My NVR is already configured to receive tampering notification. As a comparison, motion notification works fine on both apps
