Hello Community,

 

I share a remote plug with several people and I would like to be notified when it is switched.

 

I see no notification tab in the settings of the plug.

Is there a way to get an alert/notification when a P110 is switched on or off ?

Any known workaround ?
More possibilities with P110M ?

You can create an automation to send a customized notification when the smart plug's (on/off) status changes. For example, 'When Tapo Plug Turns ON or OFF, Then Send me a notification.'

sadly I was expecting the plug to have a very small life battery to send status when it gets off power (not switched off) but it appears it's not able to notify when power supply fails. So I was expecting may be to be able to configure an automation to tell "hey! Send notification if the consumption history is flat for more than X minutes or hours" but that's not possible either. I am a bit sad about this, I think this last automation could be implemented in the app even if it requires a firmware update. For the first feature I told about, I guess it is not possible if the plug has no tiny battery.

Tapo smart plug does not have a built-in battery and the mentioned features are not supported either.
