Tapo TC40 default camera angle

Okay, so I don't know the firmware version and the hardware version. It does have the latest firmware though.
Our TC40 motion detection is turned on, so naturally, it follows movement when detected. The problem is, it always gets stuck at an awkward default position once a day. Daily, I'll have to do a pan and tilt correction, then choose viewpoint 1 to resolve it.
Clearly, turning off the motion detection would solve this, but I kinda need that feature. That or get a second camera.
It would be great:
1. If I could set a viewpoint as it's default position.
2. To have the camera come back to that default position after wandering around when detecting motion.
3. If the camera angles won't get out of wack as often as it does. Checking everyday if I need to do a pan and tilt correction is quite a hassle. Also, the camera isn't able to do it's job properly when this happens. It ends up pointing at a bunch of leaves.
Firmware update please? Pretty please...

Normally, after motion tracking ends, the camera should return to its initial position. For the situation you described, is it possible that you or another user with camera access manually moved the camera at some point, but did not return it to the original position?
You can perform a test yourself - walk in front of the camera to trigger the tracking, then move out of the camera's view, and observe whether it returns to the starting position.

So a firmware update came up for my camera 17 hours after posting about the problem.
Hope the update sorts everything out.

Unfortunately, the firmware update did nothing.
The current firmware version is 1.0.6 build 25107 Rel. 35614n.
I still have the same problems. I've also tried playing around with the settings, andnstill nothing.
Currently, I just have the camera on patrol mode between two viewpoints. I've also turned the motion tracking off. It's a shame though because motion tracking is the feature I needed the most.
When I get the time, I'll just get a second camera and install it to completely cover the entrances to our house.

As my reply above, Tapo camera will return to the start position when the motion tracking ends. It is not normal if the camera does not return.
If you can share more details of your case, we can help to provide suggestions.

@emaniac11 same problem. Camera continually positions itself wrong after motion. Then tilt and turn wont go past certain points. Need a reboot continually. We all need a fix asap

@BazaBrit I already gave up on this and bought a second camera. I turned off any feature that involves the camera motor and just kept it steady.
I never really got any support from TP Link for this, other than being told how it's "supposed" to work.

@emaniac11 thanks for reply. I have now done the same and turned off this feature so i cam at least use the camera. Hopefully someone will pick up on this and get this fixed at some point.
