Model: Tapo P300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 3.9.110

Hi,

I just installed the multiplug. Everythihng is up and running, latest fireware installed, but, I did some testing and I have a mismatch between the plug and the app info : I can turn off one of the plugs wether I'm on the same network or not (or even just on 4G), so that's fine. But few seconds (minutes) later, the plug is showing as "on" in the app when in reality, it's not. And this behavior happens wether I'm on the same network or not. I have to tap the plug again (in the app), so it shows as offline, and then tap again so it actually reactivate the plug concretly....

If the app shows the plug as online when in fact it's off, that's a problem....

Anything you can help me with ?

Check the network connection on your phone, when using the Tapo app, disable the VPN or any VPN-based apps if any. Try to delete and reinstall the app.

Is your home network and the sim card from the same Internet provider? If it is the same one, try to test this problem under a different provider's network. For example, you can connect the WiFi from a coffee shop, company, mall, etc.

Does this occur on another mobile device?

Hi,

Thanks, that was it ! I was using a VPN on my phone... I don't get how it could jeopardize the reading of the plug status though, but, when I turn it off, it works.....

Thanks !!
