Hi There,

All my Tapo Camera (C500 ; C325 ; C320) are on a separate VLAN.

Everything works fine, but the cameras keep sending IP traffic every 11 minutes on port 50003 to the switch on a different VLAN, of course this is blocked by the firewall !

Any idea of what is it ?

Cheers,

Laurent

Hi,
1. Please describe your network diagram in detail.
2. What's the model number of your router and the switch?
Best Regards

Hi Solla,

Sorry for late reply, I didn't get notification on the reply, and searching for this issue, I found my post !

Here is a description of the network diagram :

A backbone with 2 x Netgear GS110EMX switchs with 10 GE link
A Gateway/firewall on Ubiquity Dream Machine
Two C325WB cameras are on one switch, then crossing the second switch and the UDM.
One PT C500 on the second switch crossing the switch and the UDM.

The Tapo cameras are on IOT VLAN (192.168.10.0/24) and the switches on admin VLAN (192.168.0.0/24)

The firewall block traffic from cameras (on IOT VLAN) to the admin VLAN port 50003 of the switch they are connected.

Brgds, Laurent

Hi,
Tapo camera communication generally does not use port 50003. Does your camera use a custom port with some third-party ONVIF/RTSP client, or does it have some other special configuration? If you can provide specific data packets showing the cameras keep sending IP traffic on port 50003 to the switch on a different VLAN, it may help locate the problem.

You can upload the data packets to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download them, and send me(@Solla-topee) the link via a private message.

Best Regards
