Model: Tapo C225
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.12

Just purchased a new C225 v2 (the new WIFI 6 version).

the horizon pan has no idea where it is and does not correct. This also effects the return to a set position. It simple has no idea where it is or was. Setting preset positions seems to have no value at all. If you manually pan to the left it seems OK. But panning to the right and the unit has a mental position breakdown. Loses where it is, where it was and can't get to where it thinks it should be going.

Manual panning is OK but setting a preset position and using pan correction for the horizontal pan, it's brain falls out.

Vertical pan correction seems OK.

Don't know if this is a hardware or software problem but really. Guys you need to test this before it goes live or is put in a box for sale.

Think your QA guys must be working for Trump. Simply not a clue how things work

  @Paritylock

Hi,
Please check if there is any foreign object on the camera that affects the camera pans. If not, try to press the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to factory reset it, then reconfigure it and check if the problem remains.
If so, you can contact your retailer or our local team to check if the camera is under warranty.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll forward it to the relevant team and keep improving the camera.

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee After further fault finding. It was a hardware issue, not related to firmware/software. Even at reboot/reset the unit struggled trying to rotate for horizontal pan correction (stuttering and failing to fully rotate. Have since returned to place of purchase for an exchange. The replacement is 100% working fine.
The original was simply faulty.
