Model: Tapo H200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 build 20240424 rel.75425

We bought the Tapo doorbell d230 with the hub h200. Installed it yesterday, all fine, except it keeps telling me I need to update the firmware for the hub to 1.5.1.

I click Update, it says it's updating, but nothing happens. The hub doesn't flash green like the instructions say it should. It then says it's updated, but still gives the 1.3.2 version. The doorbell needs an update too, but won't do this until the hub updates. I keep going round in circles, meanwhile I can't use the doorbell properly.

I have rebooted, both my phone and the hub. I've tried updating with and without the SD card inserted. I've tried updating with the ethernet cable plugged into the router. I've turned off any VPN. I've tried resetting it. Nothing is working!! Please help :-)

An update for this thread: the hub updated firmware successfully when reconnecting to a hotspot wifi.

  @Tink167

Does the 'firmware is updated' message pop up shortly after you hit Upgrade, or does it take a while to appear? Will the hub flash a green light each time you try to do it?

This issue seems to require further investigation. Please reproduce the problem and collect some logs for analysis.

1. App log: How to get the log of Tapo app

2. Device log: How to get the log of Tapo Camera > The method also applies to the smart hub.

  @Wayne-TP

Hi. The 'updated' message comes about 1 minute after hitting the Update button. The Update button shimmers, like it is doing something, then I get the page saying Up-to-date, but with the old version number, then still the You need to update message.

The hub doesn't flash green anytime I try this.

I've tried following the stepd to get the App log of the hub, but I don't get the option to Contact technical support. It gives me a list of Faqs, but that's it
