TAPO C410 - No RTSP/ONVIF sharing method.

So been on to technical support and this camera is NOT compatible with RTSP/ONVIF so you CANNOT share this camera with a DVR rendering this camera useless to me.

Correct, No battery-powered cameras supports RTSP/ONVIF, even if they have solar charging. This is because RTSP/ONVIF requires always on 24/7 recording and battery-cameras do not support this application. This is to conserve the life of the battery itself as if these cameras recorded 24/7 the battery would drain in a matter of days or possibly even hours, depending on activity.

@Carl
Came here to test TAPO for my needs, as currently run BLINK and TENVIS cameras.
Was hoping to use the new C460 with my Agent DVR (iSpy) to monitor via Windows, but as this seems not possible, camera is being returned.
Maybe TAPO needs to give this option to users, allow ONVIF etc on battery cameras, with options for full stream or image capture every xx secs, tell the user using these affects battery, but at least then it's available. If we have a solar connection this should not be an issue!!

That is a common response, if there is a solar charger why can't RTSP/ONVIF be used. The simple answer is that Solar Charging isn't consistent charging. On overly cloudy days and at night Solar doesn't work because of obviously the sun is not available to provide the nessasry UV light to power the solar cells enough to charge the battery. Additionally even on sunny day the drain due to activity may exceed the charge provided leading to a cameras that shut off due to no power. I am not saying that it may not be possible in the future but at this point wired cameras are the only option. We do have some fantasitic outdoor cameras that can meet most outdoor needs and can be used with ONVIF/RSTP they just need to be connected to a physical power source.
