Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.5

Hello

I just set my new camera up; I also installed the android app and it works as expected.

I have issues with the widgest, though.

First: the widget that shows your camera imeges can set it to privacy mode but it can't bring it back to normal operation. When I tap "exit privacy mode" nothing happen.

Second: I set a routine to turn privacy mode off when I get home. If I run the routing within the app, it works; the shortcut to the same reoutin I put into my phone home does nothing!

Can you please help?

Last: when I try to connect it to Alexa, I get to a 404 error page, is it only me?

Hi,
1. Please try to uninstall the Tapo app on your phone, copy the URL of the link, paste it into a browser on your phone, click Enter to download and install the Tapo Trail app(debug app) on your phone. After that, check if the problem is solved.

2. If the problem persists, please refer to the following steps to collect the app log for analysis, and it's appreciated if you could provide a video or pictures showing the widget problem. (You can upload the video/pictures to your cloud server(such as Google Drive), generate a link to download them, and send me(@Solla-topee) the link via a private message.)
  1) Use the Tapo Trial app to try to reproduce the problem.
  2) After the problem is reproduced, go to APP> Me>About, and click the Tapo icon 10 times on the About page (Please agree if it requests storage permission to store the logs on your phone), and the log will be imported to the mobile phone directory-TPLINK folder.
  3) Click the Share button to send us the logs.

Best Regards

Hi,
1. Do you mean you can turn on the camera's privacy mode via the widget but can't turn it off?
Please ensure your Tapo app is the latest one, and check if the widget feature will work fine. You can also try to remove the widget and re-add it for a try.

2. Is the routine you mentioned an Automation entry on the Tapo app > Smart tab? If not, please confirm where you set the routine.
Do you mean the shortcut entry you configured on the Tapo app > Smart tab does not work?

3. You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot if you fail to make your Tapo camera work with Alexa.
Cannot make my TP-Link smart devices work with Alexa

Best Regards

@Solla-topee Hi, after some tinkering, I'm left with just one issue: in the camera widget, when I turn off privacy mode, I don't get the image, but a black screen with the tapo logo in it; I need to open the app to make the widget start getting images.
