Tapo P115, Auto-Off Function: Turn Off Plug After Custom Time When Wattage Exceeds Set Level
Please add a feature to Tapo smart plugs that allows users to configure the plug to automatically turn off after a user-defined period, but only if the measured power consumption exceeds a specified wattage threshold.
Example Use Case:
If a device plugged into the Tapo plug draws more than 500W, the plug should turn off automatically after 10 minutes. This is useful for safety and energy-saving purposes, especially for high-power appliances.
Requested Settings:
Set a power (wattage) threshold (e.g., 500W)
Set a timer duration (e.g., 10 minutes)
If the plug detects power usage above the threshold, start the timer
After the timer expires, the plug turns off automatically
Benefits:
Prevents overheating and potential fire hazards
Saves energy by ensuring devices don’t run unnecessarily
Adds more automation and flexibility to energy management
Current Limitation:
Currently, Tapo plugs can turn off when a power threshold is exceeded or after a fixed timer, but not as a combination of both conditions.
