Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.1

Hello Com.,

i am running the tapo c310 cam conected to my ngfw on my isolated LAN without internet connection.

i am able to receive the rtsp video feed just fine on my linux pc or also on my smartphone with the tapo app connected to the isolated Network and added an exception for ntp (internet-access) to update and display also the correct datetime. (Please suggest me a selfhosted LAN solution for ntp as well)

Without internet access i am not getting any motion detection notifications, but the motion sensor and alarm are both turned on and are working on the cam's firmware as seen by the cam flashing lights on motion detection.

How can i receive the simple value of motion detection or even a notification in my LAN?

What protocol is used for handling the motion detection or which protocols (or ports ...) would i have to also add as exception for internet-connectivity to make this work? (dns, onvif, ...?)

If possible i would like to try avoid reverse engineering this having a look at all packets.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,
For your requests, you can try to set up the Onvif connection with the camera on a third-party app/program installed on the device that is in the same network as the camera, such as the iSpy. Below are the detailed instructions to set up the Onvif connection.
How to view Tapo camera on PC/NAS/NVR through RTSP/Onvif Protocol

After that, you can set the relevant settings on the third-party app to have the correct time on the camera and receive a notification on the third-party app when the camera detects motion.

Best Regards
