The same phenomenon does not always indicate the same underlying cause. This solution post is explicitly provided for the model and firmware version indicated. Regarding other models (in different hardware and firmware versions), since there has been no similar batch feedback, they will be considered individual cases at this point and are not relevant to this discussion. 

For the situation you're facing with your product, please refer to the troubleshooting steps provided.

1. Check which Night Mode (camera Device Settings page > Video & Display > Night Mode Settings) is set for the camera, make sure the Infrared mode is selected. For example, if the Color Mode is selected, the camera won't switch to infrared mode even when it is dark.

2. Make sure there are no strong direct light sources visible in the camera's field of view. The camera will not switch to night mode (infrared mode) automatically unless the ambient light level falls below the threshold required for activation.

3. Try to switch the camera to night mode (infrared) manually, see if that works. *Adjust camera's night mode to Infrared Mode first before the testing.
