H200 won't connect to any devices. Stopped after broadband upgrade
My hub will not connect to any of my devices. I had new fibre broadband fitted and since then the system has not worked. I tried a factory reset and whilst the hub is recognized by the app and the light is solid green I cannot connect anything to it. When I try to connect the hub goes to flashing red and green and then I get an error message. I have 2 cameras and a doorbell none of which work anymore. Help!

@Wayne-TP Follow-Up Summary: Resolution Steps for Tapo H200 Setup
Hello,
Thanks for your reply. I’m happy to share the steps we took to get everything working — including what didn’t work initially and what made the difference in the end.
---
🛠️ Previous Setup (Before Fix)
- Router: BT Smart Hub 2
- Wi-Fi: Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz were active and could not be separated by SSID
- Tapo H200 hub: connected via Ethernet to BT Disc
- BT Disc: wirelessly connected to the BT Hub
- Problem: Devices (like the doorbell and second camera) would fail to pair, even after resets and firmware checks. Likely cause: 2.4/5GHz confusion and inconsistent network topology
---
✅ Current Setup (After Fix)
- Router: BT Smart Hub 2 remains as internet gateway
- New AP Router: TP-Link Archer C64 added and configured as Access Point only
- Wi-Fi: Archer is now broadcasting a dedicated 2.4GHz-only SSID just for Tapo devices
- Tapo H200 hub: now wired directly to the Archer C64 via Ethernet (not to the BT Disc)
- Pairing success: After this configuration, all devices paired normally and the system became stable
---
🔍 Notes on What Changed
- Moving the H200 hub away from the BT Disc and directly into the Archer resolved signal and compatibility issues
- Disabling 5GHz entirely on the Archer and using a single, dedicated 2.4GHz network for all Tapo devices ensured they no longer tried to roam or mispair
- Channel set manually to 6 on 2.4GHz; DHCP handled by BT Hub; IPv6 enabled with IPv4 DNS — no issues observed
i don't know what any of this means ... I just had copilot walk me through steps until it worked. In total I spent over 10 hours trying to fix this over 3 days. Thank goodness for AI! Once we had exhausted all avenues before buying the Archer it worked pretty quickly when the separate access point was created, after an initial first attempt (tried to connect the archer without the tether app seemed to cause issues).
Thanks again for following up. I hope this helps others.

What's the firmware version of your H200? Did you try to add a device through Tapo app, or use the Sync/Pair button on both devices? Check if there are any differences when adding devices to hub in different ways.
What are the models of your camera and the doorbell?

@Wayne-TP - The firmware is up to date - build 20250228 rel.27505
Since upgrading to full fibre broadband last week, I’ve been unable to pair more than one device to my Tapo Hub H200. All three devices (D230 doorbell and two C420 cameras) were working perfectly beforehand.
I’ve followed the help pages on your website, posted on the community forum (here), and explored possible causes with some outside guidance. Here’s what I’ve tried:
-
Set up a new 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network using a TP-Link Archer C64 in Access Point mode
-
Disabled Smart Setup and 5GHz on my BT HUB2
-
Manually set DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
-
Confirmed the hub has a valid IP (192.168.0.101) and internet access
-
Reset the hub, doorbell, and both cameras (with batteries removed before pairing)
-
Successfully paired one C420 camera
-
The second camera and doorbell won’t pair — the hub flashes green for a long time, then turns solid red
-
Tried pairing with the hub hard-wired to the router, and with other devices powered off
Importantly, other Tapo devices in the house are working fine — so the issue seems specific to how this hub handles multiple pairings since the broadband change.
This system is part of a safety setup I’ve created for my partner, who is disabled. It allows me to quickly identify if something’s wrong when I’m not in the room. I’ve chosen to stay loyal to the Tapo brand because I trust it, but I do need this to work reliably.
I need your help I have spent days trying to fix this and even bought an Archer c64 to solve the problem. Please help.
Many thanks, Eleanor Ballard

@Wayne-TP thanks Wayne.the help you organized suggest I turn on diagnostic reporting ..I had already enabled diagnostic mode three days ago. However, I have now sorted the issue with the help of Microsoft CoPilot. In the end, I had to set up an entirely new access point with a tp link archer c64 device to isolate the 2.4ghz network, but at least everything now works. Just to let you know I received absolutely no support from Tapo and 4 days after reporting the issue I would be no further on if relying on them. So I am posting here to suggest that others might like to try this route of working through it with an LLM, which ultimately was quicker and worked! all my devices are Tapo in my house, but my loyalty has been seriously tested ...so that going forward I will look at other manufacturers rather than defaulting to Tapo/tplink.

I'm sorry that you did not have a satisfactory experience in this case. Usually if you want to receive prompt and effective assistance, we recommend reaching our technical support through hotline or online chat. However, for some specialist cases like yours, an unusual problem that cannot be resolved through standard troubleshooting, further analysis is required and that will require the involvement of our support engineer, which may take longer to solve the problem. Hope you can understand.
For your case, can you share how your network consisted before and after? Previously, you mentioned that you had tried to configure a new AP network using an Archer C64, but to no avail. But now the current solution is still using the Archer C64 to create a new AP network?
Where is the H200 wired to? The Archer C64?

Thank you for your reply. However, this situation is quite strange because the smart hub pairs with its sub-devices using a different wireless frequency, Tapo Sub-GHz, rather than 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Your change should not be relevant to this issue.
Anyway, it's glad to know your problem has been resolved. We will document this case and monitor it for any similar reports.
