D210 ring call stopped working
D210 ring call stopped working

Hi! I have a problem with my Tapo D210 doorbell. It just suddenly stopped sending us notifications and ring calls whenever someone presses the doorbell. Not sure but it may have started happening after I bought a new phone and had my Tapo account (admin) logged in to both my old and new phone. I've already logged out and uninstalled Tapo from the old phone. I've tested and I can still receive event notifications (I always keep them off because I just want the doorbell functionality). All notifications are allowed in my phone's setting. Already tried rebooting and reseting the doorbell. Everything is working fine except the ring call and the date and time never synced for some reason ever since its installation, but I don't care about the latter.

- Make sure the Notification feature is enabled for the doorbell.
-
On the Tapo app > Me > Notifications page, go to Device Notifications > Management to ensure the switch is enabled for your doorbell. Turn off the Do Not Disturb feature or add your doorbell to the Exceptions page.
-
Go to doorbell Device Settings page > Notifications, make sure the Activity Notification is turned on. *The Activity Notification must be enabled to receive doorbell press notifications. If you do not wish to receive detection notifications, simply uncheck all the activity types in the list. Please note that "doorbell press" is not an option in this list, so unchecking all activity types will not disable doorbell press notifications, it will only stop detection notifications.
-
-
Check whether the doorbell press notifications show in the app Notification Center (app homepage >upper right corner).
-
Ensure the Tapo app is up to date. What's the current version?
-
Check how the situation is if you use another mobile device.
What's the model and Android/iOS version of your new phone?

One more thing to check: enable the detection feature and the corresponding notification permission, test whether the detection notification arrives normally.
Whether you are unable to receive doorbell press notifications, or both doorbell press and detection notifications, please refer to the troubleshooting provided. If the issue persists after following those steps, please contact the support team for further assistance.

The doorbell press notifications no longer show up in the app Notification Center, but events do if I enable them.
And yes, the Tapo app is up to date. Its version is 3.12.108
The model of my new phone is Samsung A36 Android version is 15. And I share the doorbell to 4 accounts (AndroidS and IOS), all of them no longer receive notifications/ring calls as well.

@PerStian Welcome to the club :-( Mine works on and off. Have you triede enabling notification instead of the ring feature? It works better here with me. But it doesnt work every time - and not at all if you press the button again fx 30 secs after having pressed it. It seems to have a cool-off period....

@ThomasKramer Yes I did. My settings seems to have changed somehow when I changed my phone. The issue got fixed after I've turned on the device's activity notifications. I thought "activity" was only referring to motion detection, which I don't want to enable to save battery. It turns out it also includes pressing the doorbell. I've already marked the solution given by Wayne as the recommended one.
Maybe it's on and off for you due to a network issue? E.g. maybe it's too far from your router that it can't connect to the internet anymore
