Contact Sensor not available for automation, local network
Hello, I am making this post because I am having trouble getting my TPLink and Tapo devices to perform the one function I bought them for. The function should be simple: to have a Hub monitor a Contact Sensor on a local WiFi (no internet) and sound an alarm if opened.
I've set my WiFi to only 2.4Ghz, in channel 01, using WPA2-PSK [AES]. I set the router to static IP and the DNS to 8.8.8.8 after some AI suggestions from TPLink, but the problem behaves exactly the same.
I'm experiencing an issue where the Tapo app can see the devices, but tells me that there are no devices available when I try to set up an automation. Also, in one of the Smart tabs it has a yellow error message that the "network is unstable". The app can connect and see the devices fine, and controlling them from my phone connected to the same network seems to work well, I can manually trigger the alarm on the hub and the contact sensors show the correct open / closed status. However, it does not let me use the contact sensors as an input for automation, telling me that there are no devices available and even has an error message that the network is unstable. The signal strength is strong as I am trying to set them up right next to the router.
My configuration is as such:
Router: TP-Link Omada ER605
WiFi: Netgear Wireless Access Point WAC104
Hub: Tapo Hub H100 (firmware 1.5.12 Build 240320 Rel.123648)
Tapo Sensor: Tapo Contact Sensor T110 (firmware 1.9.0 Build 230704 Rel.154559
Thank you to anyone that can provide insight in helping me to get this to work, I'll happily provide any more information needed.
