Tapo C225 running at 10 FPS only?
Tapo C225 running at 10 FPS only?

For some reason, both my C225s are only running at 10fps stream
For reference, my C211 runs at 30fps

I can confirm that recording FPS is dropping to 10fps when camera is moving, auto tracking/pan tilting.
Hi,
This adjustment is made to optimize the camera's display performance while panning and tilting.
By lowering the frame rate during the Pan & Tilt process, the camera can ensure smoother transitions and better visual clarity, ultimately enhancing the user experience during movement.

I received beta firmware and FPS is now fixed for pan-tilting and auto tracking. It's working correctly now.

Hi,
As you can see on the Tapo C225 V2's Specifications page on our official website, the Tapo C225 V2 supports 15/20/25/30 fps (Default 15fps) rather than 10fps.
Typically, you can go to the Tapo app > Camera's Device Settings > Video & Display > Frame Rate page to change the camera's frame rate value.
Where did you test that the Tapo C225 frame rate is 10fps?

@Solla-topee
I got the stats from VLC RTSP. I do notice though that it switches to 30fps after being static for a while. Is this a cooldown thing?

that's make no sense because video is blurred and it's freezing/lagging during movement, just make it optional in settings like @Anonymous4245 suggested
for example my c260 is recording at full FPS settings while moving, video is smooth while auto tracking/pan-tilting

What is your FPS with IR? for me it's only 13 to 15fps even if it's set up for 30.
Same for days recording, it's locked at 20fps even if in settings it 30 :o
my settings:
night mode:
day mode:

@SugarBaby fortunately it's still at 30fps for me, according to VLC codec anyways
I wish there was a way to view realtime fps

Ok, it's 30 FPS if HDR is off for day mode and 30 for far night vision (only 15 for near night vision).
It is limited when HDR is on to 20fps in day mode and 20fps for far night vision, and only 15fps for near night vision.
@Solla-topee is that true that it's limited for HDR and near night vision? and why, it's shouldn't be like that, camera should work in 30 FPS like it is advertised

Hi,
To ensure the Tapo camera's video quality and performance in some specific usage scenarios (such as when the HDR is turned on), the camera's frame rate will be limited.
As you can see on the Tapo app > C225's Device Settings > Video & Display > HDR page, the note says that "When HDR is enabled, the camera may heat up and the frame rate may drop below 30fps."
Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll log and forward the request to fix the camera's frame rate to the related team for evaluation.
Best Regards
