P105 time delay

After a period of operation, the scheduled schedule will be inaccurate. This is probably because the internal time of the machine is not updated, plus the daily accumulated error, which causes the user to find that it is inaccurate. After the power is cut off and the machine is restarted, the time will be updated. It is a pity that the automated equipment needs to be manually powered off and powered on! It is hoped that the function of automatically updating the time can be added to maintain long-term time accuracy, so as to facilitate the punctual operation of automated schedules.

Do you use the smart plug in a local WiFi -- without Internet access? If that's the case, this phenomenon can indeed occur over time as the plug is unable to connect to the internet to calibrate device time.

I don't think i've received similar feedback before. Can you share more details and your configuration? For example:
- Hardware and firmware version of your Tapo P100.
- How did you identify the time deviation on the plug device?
- Which time reference source are you comparing against?
- The magnitude of the time difference observed
- The approximate frequency of occurrence
- Do you use the smart plug's built-in schedule function? Or automation rules triggered by time?

1.4.5 Build 20240514 Rel.36508。
Sorry, it's Tapo P105.
The schedule is set to turn on the device at 8 am and turn off the device at 5 pm. For example: after a few days, it is found that the device is not turned on at 9 or 10 am. You need to remove the 110V socket power supply and reinsert it to restore the normal schedule setting!

Was the plug not being turned on at all? Or did it get delayed? If it's the former, you need to consider whether there was a power outage that prevented the device from successfully connecting to the internet to calibrate the time after power was restored. A time recalibration error, or network connection problem.

@Wayne-TP The plug is plugged in properly and the Internet is connected! The machine updates the time every time it is powered on and connected to the Internet. After a period of time, the time operation is delayed and the difference with the standard time is too large. Until the power is cut off and then powered on again, the standard time is updated after connecting to the Internet. After a long time, the problem occurs again, and the cycle is endless. The machine does not have the function of updating the time every day, which should be the main cause of the problem.

@Wayne-TP I have used four P105 smart sockets for about 3 years and 6 months. I have reported this problem to the official, but the replies I received were that the problem has not been solved.

We recommend consulting the support team for an in-depth analysis to identify any potential causes of this issue. Given that your device has been in use for a while, it may be beyond the warranty period, which could explain the abnormality due to wear and tear. You might also consider getting a new device to see if you encounter similar problems.
