Tapo C210 Goes Offline and Stops Recording Every 2-3 Days Despite Solid Green LED Glowing
I recently bought a Tapo C210 v3 Security Camera, which is running on firmware version 1.1.3 Build 250429 Rel.60782n (Up-to-date at the time of writing).
Problem Description:
Every 2-3 days, the camera stops functioning and appears as "Offline" in the Tapo app. And while it appears offline:
-
Motion tracking does not work.
-
It does not record anything to the MicroSD card.
-
The green LED light stays on.
-
On my router’s device list, the camera still shows as connected, with uptime the same as when I first turned it on.
Temporary Fix:
I have to do a power cycle (removing the power adapter and plugging it back in) every time to fix it. This works for 2-3 days, and the cycle repeats.
Further, I want to add that:
- I'm using an old 32GB Samsung EVO Plus Class 10 MicroSD card from 2019 with decent R/W speeds. The card hasn't been used much before though.
- The router is an ISP-supplied one (Servercom-built; Model: JCOW414).
- The camera is set to record at 2K 25 fps with "continuous recording" along with Tapo Cloud subscription.
- The RSSI is around -60.
Can anybody confirm if it's a known issue with this hardware version or the firmware? I have submitted the feedback with device logs in-app, and the Ticket ID is TKID250821679.
