Tapo C460 Detection Zones not working
Hi.
I have two of these cameras.
For the one at the front of the house (where there is a road, a pavement/sidewalk, then a short path to my front door), I have set up a detection zone to only cover the path that leads to my front door.
Also, I have switched off motion detection, pet detection and vehicle detection (leaving just person and facial).
Despite that, I get up to 1500 detections per day, which suggests that ALL motion is being detected (albeit NOT recorded).
This is a problem, as the solar panel cannot provide enough power to keep the camera charged for more than a few days.
Can you tell me if there is any way I can solve this problem please?
Regards
John

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to check your camera settings and prevent it from draining battery quickly.
What to do if the battery drains quickly on my Tapo battery-powered camera/doorbell?
Please note that not only do frequent detection notifications drain battery, but so do frequent camera wake-ups. You can refer to the following link to learn about the battery-powered camera's wake-up mechanism, which is not restricted by detection zones.
What is the Wake-up Sensitivity of my battery camera/doorbell?
For the reported detection phenomenon, please confirm the following information for further analysis.
1. Try to insert an SD card into the camera to store video recordings, then refer to the following instructions to set up the recording feature.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card
2. Send us the screenshots of the camera's Detection page, Wake-up Sensitivity page, and the person detection sensitivity value.
3. When you receive a detection notification that shouldn't be triggered, please find the corresponding video clip, download it to your phone, and send it to us.
You can upload the video and screenshots to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

@Solla-topee Many thanks for getting back to me.
I've read what you have suggested and I think that the camera is being woken up too much. It's probably my fault for putting it in a position where it can detect the movement of cars on the busy road outside our house (despite having the wake up sensitivity on level 1).
I will probably need to reposition the camera to somewhere where it can;t "see" the road.
I have reduced the resolution for now to see if the camera will re-charge itself though.
Do you know if the A200 solar panel is compatible with the C460 cameras please?

Hi,
The Tapo A200 solar panel can't work directly with the Tapo C460, as the output port of the Tapo A200 is a microUSB port, while the Tapo C460's power port is a Type-C port.
It's recommended to use the solar panel Tapo A201 (if it's available) to work with the Tapo C460.

@Solla-topee Hi. Thanks for the update about the solar panels.I do already have the A201 panels (though one was DOA and I need to get that one swapped out). I was hoping that the extra size and power of the A200 might help solve my problem, but if it's not compatible I will have to try moving the camera.
Thanks
John
