Does tapo c200 camera stream data to the internet
My understanding was that tapo c200 camera would stream data only within the local area network in which the wifi is available. But I'm able to see the data live even when I'm not connected to wifi. How is this possible?

Hi,
Typically, once you've set up the camera successfully in the Tapo app and your router has an internet connection, the camera will connect to your router's Wi-Fi and our cloud server. Then, you can control it in the Tapo app in the local network, and also be able to control/stream it remotely through our cloud server.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thanks for the response. I've a question from a privacy standpoint. Does the data get stored in cloud or just gets streamed. I use a local memory card for privacy and haven't subscribed to cloud storage.

Hi,
If you have not subscribed to the Tapo Care service, the camera's video recordings won't be stored on our cloud server.
