Hello

 

I recently purchased my doorbell, still on first charge, however when I download the video from the app using SD card local storage, onto my phone, the video won't playback and says failed to load file. 

 

I have an android phone and pictures work fine but video does not. 

 

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Are you watching the video using the Tapo app, or are you playing it through a different mobile media player? If it is the latter, try to install other apps and test it again.

Hi 

Yeah the video works in tapo app but say if I wanted to download and play on standard media player on my phone or share to someone, it won't and won't play on any other media player.

 

I've tried using VLC on my laptop as well but that won't play the files either, suggests it could be corrupting when downloading?

 

It downloads as MP4 so can't see any reason why it won't play.

What's the model and system version of your phone? I have encountered cases where high-resolution videos cannot be played or experience issues when using a phone with a lower-resolution screen.

 

Additionally, when sharing the video with others, ensure they download the video file first and then play it using a dedicated media player. Some social media apps may have difficulty playing the video directly within their platform.

 

Did you receive any error when playing the video? What app did you use on your phone?

  @Wayne-TP I get this error when trying to play downloaded file on my standard phone media player. It won't play on my laptop either using VLC or windows media player etc so I think the file is corrupting on download. 

 

I have tried Google photos app as well to no avail.

 

My phone is a Sony Xperia 10 V running Android 15.
