Hi, I purchased a TP-Link Deco Be65 to use it with my 2,5/1 gbit fibre connection in Italy. Unfortunately I received an Ont (Sercomm FG1000R) which has known buffering issues when uploading big amount of data with a 2,5gb ethernet connection. I asked for other onts but they won't change it.

So my speedtest usually report 2,1 download Speed and just 300mbit upload (instead of 1gb).

I read on the web that activating Qos on the Router usually helps and I tried settimg It to 2,5 down / 950mbit upload but the problem remains.

It Is my unterstanding that there are many ways to implement qos so I was wondering whether you could maybe help with a firmware update?

Hi, can I have the firmware version of the Deco BE65?

May I know your fiber ISP?

 

So my speedtest usually reports 2.1 Gbps download Speed and just 300 Mbps upload (instead of 1 Gbps)

-Do you use Deco App>Test internet speed to run the speed test？

 

If you connect a ""directly to the ONT, how much of the upload speed on the laptop?

My ISP is Aruba on Fibercop infrastructure. They just give me the fibre connection and the Ont. I then bought the Deco65, which therefore is not an "ISP router". It is my property.

 

Deco be65 firmware version is 1.2.0 Build 20250718 Rel. 43949

 

The test is run both on my desktop computer (2,5gb ethernet) with ookla speedtest via command line (usually 2100 download, 3/400 upload on a server with 18/20 ms ping) and via wifi from ookla speedtest app: with a Xiaomi 15 wifi 7 it gave me 1800 down / 280 up. On my Motorola Edge 50 neo Wifi 6/6E it performs a bit better in upload - 950 down / 600 up. I understand that on 1gbps ethernet link this Sercomm FG1000R Ont does not have the buffering issue..and that would explain why on my slower wifi6 phone the upload is better, because it also has a slower link and therefore it is capable of  managing the amount of data my device sends.

 

I also tried the Deco App speedtest and it is constantly 1,7 down/1gb up.

 

Later today I will try connecting the desktop directly to the Ont and I will let you know.

Ok I tried connecting directly to the ont with a 2,5 GB ethernet link :on close servers (15ms) I get 660mb download and 298 up, Just terribile.

This Is a wifi 7 test, It behaves just like 2,5 ethernet: the ont cannot handle the buffering due to the limited 1gbps upload Speed ( I have an asymmetric  2,5/1 down up fibre connection).

 

I read on a forum that with qos it usually gets better but I tried setting 1gb upload qos in the deco app and the situation does not change.

 

Do you think there Is something that can be done via software?
