Hi,
You can continue watching the camera's live feed, but only record detection video clips on the SD card. Below are the instructions to store video clips on the SD card.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card
 

Note: only when your phone and the camera are on the same network, you may continuously watch the camera's live feed in the Tapo app.

So let's say that I dedicate a screen for live streaming of the camera 24/7 being on the same local network. Then I will still be able to get the clips recorded when the camera detected motion on the sd card while this live stream is on.

Hi,
Yes. If you configure the camera to store detection video clips only on the SD card, while you are watching the camera's live feed, it will store only the detection video clips.
