Hi,

I recently purchased Tapo C325WB hoping that it can deal with other market competitors when it comes to colorful night mode.

I want the camera to keep the color night mode, while spotlights are off.

Unfortunately I can't achieve that. To turn them off I need to put infraned mode, which is not something I want. When I turn on color night mode, the spotlights get on automatically and I can only set them to minimum brightness. But they are always on.

Is there a setting when I can have spotlights turned off and keep the color night vision?

Reolink can easily do that with their 410W model in the same conditions and I believe Tapo is a direct competition here.

Thanks for answer.

  @pmst

Hi,
The Tapo C325WB V2 currently does not have the Spotlight Off mode(display a colorful image with the spotlight off) on the Night Mode Settings page. However, this mode is planned to be added to the camera via firmware updates.
We suggest checking the Firmware Release Notes section on the Tapo C325WB V2's Support page on our official website to see whether the mode is added in future firmware.

Best Regards

Do you know when this update is planned? Is there any other hardware version (v1, v3,.. ?) that supports this mode as of today?

  @Solla-topee  I have one more question. I just found that my camera has 1/1.88 sensor, whereas it is advertised as 1/1.79.

Does it mean that with V2, the sensor has been changed and now it's smaller? And this is the reason why there is no full color mode without spotlights as the sensor is performing worse than the previous 1/1.79 one?
